Building long-term recovery through housing, work and community
The 2nd Story Ranch Recovery Home & Jobs Program is a long-term recovery housing initiative designed for men who have completed treatment and are ready to continue rebuilding their lives. Located on a working horse farm in Crete, Illinois, the program combines housing, work, peer support, and daily structure in an environment built around accountability, purpose, and community.

Groundbreaking on the first phase of construction is anticipated in autumn 2026. Once completed, residents will live at the Ranch free of charge. The program does not bill Medicaid, private insurance, or residents for participation. Men are able to remain in the program as long as needed, with no predetermined discharge date or time limit. This approach recognizes that lasting recovery often requires stability, consistency, and time.

Through meaningful work, shared responsibility, peer support, and structured daily routines, residents develop the skills, confidence, and independence needed to build productive lives in recovery. The goal is not simply to complete a program. The goal is to create the foundation for long-term success beyond it.

The capital campaign now underway will fund the buildings, site work, furnishings, and operating readiness needed to move the Ranch from planning to construction. Contributions will help complete the physical campus and prepare the program to serve its first residents after construction is complete.
